Privacy policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
King Business Solutions LLC (“KBS,” “we,” “us”) operates ValueDash. This policy describes information handled by the ValueDash application and this informational website.
Information we process
- Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and sign-in/session information. Clerk handles authentication. When you choose Google sign-in, Google and Clerk process that sign-in and provide account information; we do not receive your Google password or passkey.
- Vehicle information: VINs you enter or scan; year, make, model, and related lookup results. Saved pricing and auction records can include vehicle details, prices, mileage, condition, notes, dates, and the account that added them.
- Photos: images you choose to submit for VIN recognition. An image may contain other information visible in the frame. Please photograph only the VIN area and avoid unrelated personal documents or people.
- Access and billing: trial dates, subscription status, plan, and customer/subscription identifiers. Where Stripe billing is used, Stripe processes payment information; the ValueDash account database stores billing references and entitlement status rather than card numbers.
- Support and diagnostics: contact details and messages you send us, service errors, request timing, and rate-limit records. Infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, device/browser information, and operational logs to deliver and protect the service. Apple handles TestFlight feedback and crash diagnostics under its own terms.
How VIN photos are processed
When you submit an image for recognition, it is sent to our Convex backend and then to OpenAI’s API to extract the VIN. Recognition is not performed solely on your device. The current recognition action does not write the photo to a ValueDash database or photo library. It requests that OpenAI not store the response for later retrieval. This setting is not a guarantee of zero retention: provider security, abuse-monitoring, logging, and backup practices may still apply.
You may enter a VIN manually instead. Camera and photo access can be controlled through your device settings.
Why we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, provide vehicle lookups and photo recognition, display and save results, administer trials and subscriptions, respond to support requests, diagnose failures, and prevent misuse.
Services that receive information
Clerk supports authentication; Google supports Google sign-in and delivery of support email; Convex hosts application functions and records; OpenAI processes submitted VIN images; and Stripe supports billing where enabled.
VIN decoding sends the VIN to NHTSA’s vPIC service. Vehicle pricing, comparables, and image searches send vehicle search details to relevant data sources, including J.D. Power, auction/comparable sources, and image search services such as Bing and DuckDuckGo. Displaying externally hosted images or following source links connects your device to those sites, which may receive your IP address and request information.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable protections. Third-party websites and services have their own privacy practices.
Storage and retention
Account and saved vehicle records remain in the service until removed through account administration or an applicable deletion request. Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and related follow-up. Operational records and caches are subject to service cleanup and provider retention settings; removal from active systems may not immediately remove backup or security-log copies. Records needed for billing, disputes, security, or legal obligations may be retained for those purposes.
Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. We use authenticated access and encrypted connections, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can choose manual VIN entry, restrict camera/photo permissions, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your account. Email michael@kingbusinesssolutionsllc.com from your account email where possible. We may verify your identity before acting. Do not send your password, passkey, or payment card number. Deleting an app from your device does not itself delete server-side account records.
This website
This informational website does not include an account form, advertising scripts, or analytics scripts. Its hosting provider may process connection and security logs. Email links open your email application; information you send then becomes support correspondence.
Children
ValueDash is intended for adult vehicle professionals and enthusiasts, not children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required.
